This project was designed entirely by me. The product needed some form of validation if a payment of R$ 5.000.000,00 or more was scheduled. We needed to warn the user that this validation would happen, and that should be done very smoothly because it involves a large sum of money.
This project was very challenging because Brazilian regulations can be tricky.
In this particular case, the client (bank) had money on an account in the Banco Central do Brasil, where all the Pix payments are processed via that account. If a payment worth 5 million or more was processed, the bank's account could become very shallow with not enough money on it, therefore it needed someone from finances to put more money in it. If any payment couldn't be processed because the bank's account had little money in it, the Banco Central could punish the bank, using a 3-strike rule, and by the 3rd strike it couldn't process Pix payments anymore, and that would be a total disaster.
Luckily we were able to identify this problem and create this solution before those strikes became a threat. I was able to work closely with the development team and create a set of rules that would always warn someone from the financial team about those large transactions, and that person would be able to refill the acount before any problems would arise.
This project helped the support team by a very big margin, reducing in 62% the number of calls they received about this task.
